Following the accident, law enforcement authorities swiftly launched a probe into the matter, leading to the arrest of two college students. The individuals apprehended were identified as Sarthak Singh, a 20-year-old BA LLB student from a private university, and his companion Devshree Verma, a 22-year-old BTech student. The car involved in the tragic accident was also recovered.

Eyewitnesses reported that the young boy, accompanied by his coach, was practicing his skating skills when an SUV, traveling at an alarming speed, struck him. The impact proved fatal, instantly claiming the child’s life. The accused duo, both college students, callously fled the scene after the incident, leaving behind a trail of shock and devastation.

Further investigations revealed that the two individuals had been engaged in a dangerous race, recklessly driving their SUVs in a bid to outpace each other. Displaying a blatant disregard for public safety, the students alternated turns, pushing the vehicle’s speedometer well beyond the 100 km/hr mark. Tragically, it was during Sarthak’s turn behind the wheel, when the SUV reached a staggering speed of over 120 km/hr, that he lost control and collided with the innocent 10-year-old.

The police swiftly identified the vehicle involved in the accident, utilizing CCTV footage from the area. This aided in tracking the route taken by the reckless students. Subsequently, both Sarthak and Devshree were apprehended from their respective residences. In a shocking revelation, the accused admitted during questioning that they were aware of the severity of the collision and the boy’s grim chances of survival. Consequently, they fled the scene, leaving the helpless child behind.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that neither of the accused possessed a valid driving license. Both claimed to possess learning licenses, but failed to provide any documentation to support their claims. The callousness displayed by the students in both their actions and disregard for basic driving regulations has only deepened the sense of outrage surrounding the incident.
