The victim had allegedly been raped three years ago when she was still a minor, and her tormentors, identified as Ashok and Pawan Nishad, were apprehended and imprisoned for their heinous crime. According to the police, the two accused brothers hatched a sinister plot to intimidate the victim into withdrawing her charges against them. When she steadfastly refused to do so, they pursued her on a deserted road early on Tuesday morning as she was returning from the fields. Armed with an axe, they ruthlessly attacked her, leaving her lifeless body behind. Shockingly, numerous villagers witnessed the gruesome act but were too terrified to intervene. The perpetrators are currently on the run, evading justice.

“In Kaushambi, two heartless individuals publicly took the life of an innocent girl by brutally hacking her with an axe. One of the criminals had been released on bail just two days ago in connection with another murder case, while the other was accused of raping the same unfortunate victim,” expressed the state’s Congress unit on social media, accompanied by a distressing video from the crime scene.

The Congress further criticized the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, emphasizing the audacity of criminals who fearlessly disregard the legal system and show no respect for human life. The party’s post highlighted the alarming insecurity faced by daughters in the state, who risk losing their lives if they dare to raise their voice against injustice and dishonor.
