Woman Suspected of Starting Multiple Fires in Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) – Authorities in Pueblo are investigating a series of fires allegedly started by a woman in the Bessemer area. The incidents occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, prompting a swift response from the Pueblo Fire Department and Pueblo Police Department.

According to a statement released on social media by the Pueblo Police Department, a total of eight fires were reported, involving various properties including houses, businesses, a vehicle, bushes, and a fence. Witnesses provided crucial information, including a description of the female suspect, as well as photos, videos, and her direction of travel. With this valuable information in hand, law enforcement officers immediately initiated a search in the vicinity.

During the search, police officers successfully apprehended a woman who matched the suspect’s description near the intersection of Aqua Avenue and Wyoming Avenue. The suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Sarah Mosely, was found in possession of a “torch” and several other lighters, which investigators believe were used to ignite the fires. Significantly, the last fire under investigation was discovered in an alley close to where the suspect was apprehended.

Sarah Mosely has been formally charged with first-degree arson in connection with the series of fires. Following her arrest, there were no further reports of fires in the area for the remainder of the morning, indicating a possible end to the dangerous spree.

The Pueblo Police Department and Pueblo Fire Department are now working closely together to gather additional evidence and determine the full extent of the damage caused by these fires.
