Delhi Police’s Special Cell has apprehended a suspect in connection with the pro-Khalistan graffiti that emerged on the walls of the ISBT flyover in September. According to sources, the accused, identified as Malak Singh, was reportedly offered money by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the founder of the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) organization.

The incident, which sparked controversy and raised concerns about anti-national activities, prompted the Delhi Police to launch an investigation into the matter. The accused, Malak Singh, was detained in Kurukshetra, Haryana, and is currently being questioned by the police to unravel the entire conspiracy behind the pro-Khalistan graffiti.

Further details about the investigation are yet to be disclosed, as the police continue their efforts to gather evidence and establish any possible links to extremist elements. The graffiti found beneath the Kashmiri Gate flyover had raised alarms and necessitated a thorough probe into the matter.

The Delhi Police had registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) following the discovery of pro-Khalistan slogans on the walls. Additionally, the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Public Property Act was invoked to address the act of vandalism.

This incident is not the first of its kind in the national capital. In August, the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch had arrested two individuals from Punjab for defacing walls at several Delhi Metro stations with pro-Khalistan messages. The accused, Pritpal Singh, also known as Kaka, and his associate Rajvinder, had been promised a sum of USD 7,000 by SFJ handler Gurpatwant Singh Pannun for their involvement in the act.

The defaced metro stations included Shivaji Park, Madipur, Paschim Vihar, Udyog Nagar, and Maharaja Surajmal Stadium. The slogans “Delhi Banega Khalistan” (Delhi will become Khalistan) and “Khalistan Zindabad” (Long live Khalistan) were smeared across the walls, causing outrage and concern among the public.

A video allegedly released by the banned organization, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), showcased the vandalized metro station walls, further fueling the controversy surrounding the pro-Khalistan movement.

The arrest of Malak Singh and his alleged connection to Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and the SFJ has once again brought the issue of pro-Khalistan activism to the forefront. The police’s ongoing investigation aims to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and determine the involvement of any other individuals or organizations.
