A motorcyclist met a tragic end last night in a violent road rage incident that took place in Mueang district, Samut Prakan. Supakorn Chankhati, a 24-year-old man, was shot dead by a stray bullet in the right side of his head at around 7pm on the Bang Phli-Tamiru Road in Bang Pu Mai subdistrict. Despite immediate efforts by rescue workers to rush him to a nearby hospital, Supakorn succumbed to his injuries.

The shooter, identified as 26-year-old Burapa Jiamyu, was apprehended later that night at a housing estate on Soi Mangkorn. Thanks to the evidence obtained from CCTV footage, police were able to make the arrest. According to Bang Pu Police Chief Pisut Chansuwan, Burapa confessed to the shooting after being taken into custody.

Burapa provided a detailed account, stating that he was driving a pickup truck that had been converted for ice deliveries. He became infuriated by a six-wheel truck driver on the same road, leading to a heated argument between the two at a petrol station. The situation escalated when the truck driver brandished a steel bar, but he retreated and drove away when Burapa revealed a firearm.

Burapa admitted to police that he pursued the truck, overtook it, and stopped in front of it. He then fired what he claimed was intended to be a warning shot. Tragically, the bullet struck Supakorn, who was passing by on his motorcycle. Burapa confessed to stealing the gun from a teenage neighbor and later disposing of it after the shooting, as reported by Bangkok Post.

Supakorn’s girlfriend, Sudarat Singruang, who was with him at the time of the incident, provided a heartbreaking account of the events. They were on their way to the hospital because Sudarat was experiencing stomach pain when she heard the gunshot. Supakorn collapsed right in front of her, but she managed to stop the motorbike.

Sudarat expressed that they had no conflicts with anyone and saw the alleged gunman at the scene. She couldn’t find any reason why Supakorn would have been targeted in such a senseless act of violence.

The incident has left the local community shocked and saddened. Authorities are working diligently to ensure that justice is served for Supakorn and his loved ones. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
