Robertson’s sentence includes a minimum of two years and a maximum of four years in prison, with 66 days credit, for no contest pleas to possession of child sexually abusive material and accosting a child for immoral purposes. Additionally, he has been sentenced to at least 38 months and up to five years in prison, with 66 days credit, for a no contest plea to capturing/distributing an image of an unclothed person. Furthermore, he received a sentence of at least seven years and up to 15 years in prison, with 66 days credit, for a no contest plea to second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The charges against Robertson stem from incidents that occurred between March 1, 2021, and March 22, 2022, in Cadillac. It is important to note that a no contest plea does not imply an admission of guilt but is treated as one during sentencing. This plea also allows the court to determine guilt based on the review of the police report.

The sentences for these offenses will be served concurrently. Court records reveal that Robertson has also been ordered to pay fines and fees amounting to $1,562, as well as restitution of $2,908.68 for his extradition from Nevada.

As part of the plea agreement, several charges, including child sexually abusive activity, accosting a child for immoral purposes, three counts of using a computer to commit a crime, a second count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and two counts of furnishing obscenity to a child, were dismissed at sentencing.

The investigation into Robertson began in March 2022 when Michigan Children’s Protective Services contacted the Cadillac Michigan State Police Post regarding a child pornography case. According to a press release from the Michigan State Police, Robertson was identified as the suspect. Troopers obtained multiple search warrants for his online accounts, including Google, Snapchat, and Facebook. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed at Robertson’s residence, resulting in the seizure of six cellular devices. These devices were then turned over to the MSP Computer Crimes Unit for analysis. The victims were also interviewed at the Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center.

Following the investigation, a report was forwarded to the Wexford County Prosecutor’s Office, leading to the authorization of an arrest warrant on October 10, 2022. Shortly thereafter, Robertson was arrested and arraigned in the 84th District Court.

Apart from his prison sentence, fines, and restitution, Leonard Wayne Robertson will also be required to register as a sex offender, further ensuring community safety.
