Katie De Los Reyes shared her pain as she prepared for the funeral of her beloved spouse, Andrew, a 35-year-old man who lost his life in the accident.

The incident occurred on November 12, as Andrew was on his way to work at the Aria on the iconic Las Vegas Strip. Tragically, his life was cut short when a drunk driver ran a red light and collided with his vehicle at around 3 a.m. According to Katie, Andrew worked the graveyard shift, making this horrifying incident even more devastating.

The other driver involved in the crash has been identified as Sean Cornwall, a 49-year-old man. Police reports indicate that Cornwall was driving at twice the speed limit and is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He now faces multiple charges, including DUI, reckless driving resulting in substantial bodily harm, possession of a dangerous drug, and failure to obey traffic laws.

Expressing her anguish, Katie emphasized that the accident was entirely preventable, blaming it on the pure negligence of another individual. She mourned the loss of the father of her children and expressed her desire for no one else to experience such a tragedy.

Describing Andrew as a dedicated and supportive partner and father, Katie shared that he was declared brain dead as a result of severe brain trauma. The family made the difficult decision to remove him from life support, and Andrew’s organs were later donated, potentially saving the lives of at least three individuals.

The alarming rise in road fatalities in Las Vegas has sparked concerns among road safety advocates. Erin Breen, a prominent advocate, highlighted the gravity of the situation during a recent traffic safety event. She revealed that within a span of 48 hours, six fatalities and numerous critical injuries had occurred within the local community. Breen warned that the number of fatalities in Las Vegas had already surpassed 325 by October 31, with the previous year setting a record of 416 fatalities. She urged for immediate action to prevent a similar outcome this year.
