Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : Beavercreek, Ohio – A Walmart in southwestern Ohio was the site of a shooting incident on Monday, leaving four people injured and the suspected gunman dead, according to WHIO-TV. The incident occurred at the Walmart located on Pentagon Boulevard in Beavercreek, a suburb of Dayton. The Greene County Coroner’s Office confirmed their presence at the scene, but no further details about the victims’ conditions were provided.

During a late-night news conference, Beavercreek Police Capt. Scott Molnar confirmed that the shooter had died from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. He also stated that the authorities believe the shooter was the only suspect involved in the incident. Additional information is expected to be released by the police on Tuesday.

The Beavercreek Police Department confirmed their presence at the scene in a Facebook post, assuring the public that there was no active threat. The store was cleared and secured by the police.

The Greene County coroner’s office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations were also present at the scene to assist with processing the area. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations confirmed that they had received a request for assistance from the local authorities.

“We’re heartbroken by what’s happened at our Beavercreek, Ohio store,” said a spokesperson from Walmart in a statement. The company is closely cooperating with investigators to gather more information about the incident.

The shooting incident took place around 8:30 p.m. local time, according to the Beavercreek Police Department. Soin Medical Center confirmed that they had received three victims from the scene, but no information about their condition was available at the time of reporting.

This is not the first time the Beavercreek Walmart has been the site of a tragic incident. On August 5, 2014, John Crawford III was shot and killed by a police officer inside the same store. The incident occurred after a 911 caller reported Crawford carrying what appeared to be a rifle. It was later determined to be a pellet gun that Crawford had picked up from the store. The city of Beavercreek settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Crawford’s family in 2020, paying them $1.7 million.
