Family Seeks Answers After Teenager Found Dead Near Houston

HOUSTON – A family is in distress as they search for answers following the tragic discovery of their missing teenager in a wooded area roughly 20 miles away from their home. Trevion Martin, a 19-year-old resident of Sugar Land, failed to return home from work last Wednesday, leaving his family deeply concerned. However, their worst fears were confirmed when a volunteer using a drone stumbled upon his lifeless body near the South Loop and Buffalo Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Andrea Butler, Trevion’s mother, expressed her frustration, stating, “Everything is fishy. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I just want to find out what happened to my child.” The Houston Police Department revealed that Trevion’s body was found approximately 50 yards from the road, with a gunshot wound, in a wooded area close to Grand Fountains Drive near Buffalo Speedway. Although the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has yet to determine the manner of death, the family strongly believes that self-harm is not a possibility.

Adrienne Butler, Trevion’s grandmother, expressed her disbelief, saying, “He had never been in jail, he doesn’t have any record, and he was an A-student. Why? Why?” She desperately seeks answers and closure in this tragic incident.

According to the family, Trevion usually relied on a friend and colleague for transportation to and from work. However, on the day of his disappearance, he did not return home after his shift at his friend’s dropship company. The situation took a further troubling turn when Sugar Land Police arrived at the family’s residence in the middle of the night, claiming that Trevion had stolen his friend’s gun.

With Trevion still missing on Thursday, Andrea Butler filed a missing persons report with the Sugar Land Police Department. The department’s initial investigation did not uncover any signs of foul play, redirecting further inquiries to the Houston Police Department.

In their relentless search for Trevion, the family scoured areas they believed he might frequent and engaged with neighbors for any leads. Andrea Butler managed to obtain surveillance footage from a neighbor, capturing her son’s presence near the townhomes off Grand Fountains Drive, close to where his body was ultimately discovered.

Understanding the significance of this evidence, community activist Albert Flores, who had volunteered to assist in the search, also gathered surveillance footage and spoke to local residents. Flores recounted his discovery, stating, “I sent the drone down there and I saw something that caught my eye.” He immediately dialed 911 upon spotting Trevion’s body across the street from the townhomes, in a wooded area.

The family claims that they had requested the police to check known addresses within the townhomes during the search. However, they allege that this request was not fulfilled. Adrienne Butler expressed her frustration, stating, “I feel like my grandson would still be here if they had conducted a proper wellness check.”

Based on the information provided to the family regarding the condition of Trevion’s body, it appears that he had not been deceased for the entire duration of his disappearance. As Thanksgiving, Trevion’s favorite holiday, approaches, the family feels an immense void, as they miss the presence of their beloved son.

Andrea Butler tearfully expressed her thoughts, saying, “I wish you could have seen more of the world.
