Accident – Death – Obituary News : Two suspects, aged 41 and 44, who were arrested in connection with the murder of 55-year-old Thanasios Kalogeropoulos, are once again appearing before the Limassol Court today. These two individuals were the first to be apprehended in relation to the case. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department has stated that investigators are expected to request an extension of their detention for an additional two days, aligning with the expiration of the detention order for the other two suspects, aged 22 and 21.

On Thursday, the case is scheduled to be officially registered, with the case file initially being transferred to the Legal Service to provide instructions on which individuals should be referred to trial before the Criminal Court. The 41-year-old suspect has been scientifically identified as one of Kalogeropoulos’ murderers and was also the motorcycle driver during the incident. The genetic material found on one of the hoods used by the assailants at the crime scene matched the DNA of this particular suspect.

Moreover, incriminating evidence has been discovered from the telecommunications data of the 41-year-old. It was revealed that he received a signal from an area near the residence of the 21-year-old suspect, who is believed to be the second perpetrator, in the early hours of October 30, just before the murder took place. The same phone number also received signals from an antenna located in the area where the murder occurred, as well as another antenna in the location where the perpetrators’ vehicle was set on fire.

In contrast, the 44-year-old suspect is allegedly the individual who provided his mansion in Skarinou for the organization and planning of Kalogeropoulos’ execution. Additionally, he is reported to have provided the rental vehicle used in the crime. Closed-circuit circuits captured the vehicle traveling to and from the mansion, as well as in the vicinity where the perpetrators’ vehicle was later torched. Furthermore, this vehicle was used to transport the 21-year-old suspect from his home during the early hours of the murder.

The investigation into the murder of Thanasios Kalogeropoulos is progressing, with the prosecution building a strong case against the four suspects. The evidence gathered so far, including genetic material and telecommunications data, appears to link the two suspects currently on trial directly to the crime. As the case moves forward, further details may emerge, shedding more light on the motive and circumstances surrounding this tragic event..
