Chicopee Police Apprehend Suspect Involved in an Alleged Car Break-In

CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – In the early hours of Sunday morning, Chicopee Police successfully arrested a man from Three Rivers and confiscated a firearm after intervening in what they believed was an attempted car break-in. The incident unfolded on Taylor Street, where officers spotted a suspicious car parked in the middle of the road without its lights on.

As the officers approached the scene, one of the car’s passengers disembarked and proceeded to walk behind a parked vehicle. Simultaneously, the driver, identified as 28-year-old Brandon Thompson-Clay, slowly drove down the street. The peculiar behavior raised suspicions among the police, who suspected the individuals were involved in criminal activity targeting parked cars.

Acting swiftly, the police decided to intercept and investigate the situation. Thompson-Clay, found to be in possession of an invalid paper license, was promptly taken into custody.

Upon further inspection of the vehicle, the officers made a startling discovery – a loaded firearm concealed under the driver’s seat. The gun, later determined to be stolen from Vermont, was seized as evidence.

Following the incident, Thompson-Clay now faces multiple charges related to vehicle tampering and illegal possession of a weapon.
