Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : Two youths of Indian origin were brutally stabbed multiple times in broad daylight in Fremont, California on November 17. The incident occurred when three friends from Hyderabad, India, went to buy soft drinks from a shop at Fremont Hub, an outdoor shopping center in the city’s Central District. The victims, Syed Shadan ul Haq, Khalid Bin Masood Yafai, and Mohammad Abdul Basur Sufiyan, all sustained serious injuries. One of them is currently on life support in the ICU, while the other is out of danger after undergoing multiple surgeries.

The suspect, Miguel Angel Villareal, was identified through surveillance footage and witness interviews. Villareal, who has a history of criminal offenses, including robbery and battery, was located and arrested several hours after the incident. He is now facing two counts of attempted murder and is set to be arraigned on November 22.

Fremont Mayor Lily Mei stated that the investigation is ongoing and it has not yet been determined whether the incident can be classified as a hate crime. The matter will be taken to the District Attorney’s office for further examination.

The victims’ families are in shock and have shared their account of the events leading up to the attack. According to Shadan, the perpetrator appeared normal before suddenly attacking them with a knife. Shadan managed to escape with minor injuries, but Khalid was stabbed multiple times and is currently in the ICU. The families expressed their concern about the rise in such incidents in Fremont and the fear it has instilled in the community.

Arfat Bin Masood Yafai, Khalid’s brother, spoke about the increase in homelessness and hate crimes in Fremont, stating that he now fears for his safety and the safety of others. He criticized the city officials for not taking sufficient action to address the rising crime rates. Arfat also mentioned that some of his friends and roommates have been attacked in the past but chose not to report it.

Another witness, Mohammad Abdul Basur Sufiyan, described the incident and expressed shock at the violence. He mentioned that the perpetrator was often seen in the area but had never displayed such aggressive behavior before. Sufiyan emphasized the importance of addressing this issue to prevent further harm to the community.

The victims’ families and friends are anxiously awaiting Khalid’s recovery and hoping for justice in this case. They expressed their gratitude to the paramedics who arrived quickly at the scene and provided immediate medical attention.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of residents in Fremont and the need for increased security measures. The police have assured the victims’ families that they are actively working on the case and will do everything possible to bring the perpetrator to justice..
