The victims have been identified as 38-year-old Kimberly Denise Smith and 40-year-old Kevin Michael Smith. The Guilford County Sheriff’s Department, however, has been tight-lipped about the specifics of the incident, offering limited information on the ongoing investigation. In a statement released at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, the department confirmed that the case is being actively investigated as a homicide, yet reassured the community that there is currently no immediate threat to their safety.
