Initial reports from the Taguig police and Southern Police District (SPD) stated that the autopsies conducted on the victims revealed no evidence of foul play. On November 13, the SPD announced, “Our investigators and the post-mortem examination conducted by the SPD forensic team found no foul play in the incident at this time.”

The post-mortem examination, performed by the police’s forensic team, determined that Manalo and Picar died from asphyxia due to hanging. Additionally, pregnancy tests conducted on both victims yielded negative results. The two students were close friends and active members of the school’s Girl Scout organization.

Taguig Police Chief, Colonel Robert Baesa, has confirmed that their investigation into the incident will continue. They plan to interview individuals who were acquainted with Manalo and Picar, while awaiting the toxicology report on the victims. Forensic toxicology involves analyzing biological samples for toxins and can provide crucial information about substances present in an individual’s system.

A witness, referred to as Danielle, aged 16, recalled seeing Manalo and Picar for the last time at approximately 7:45 pm on November 10, as they mentioned they were going home. However, it was later discovered through their Messenger group that the two did not return. Danielle found their lifeless bodies hanging with a rope tied around their necks in the Girls Scout office and immediately reported the incident to the security guards, who then contacted the Taguig police.
