Three People Killed in Collision between Passenger Van and Dumper Truck in Lahore

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Three individuals have tragically lost their lives in a devastating collision between a passenger van and a dumper truck in Lahore. Additionally, at least 13 people sustained injuries in the accident.

The incident occurred on Sagian Road when a van carrying more than a dozen passengers was violently struck by a dumper truck. The force of the collision caused severe injuries to the occupants of the van, who were promptly rushed to a nearby hospital by rescue teams. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of medical professionals, three of the injured passengers succumbed to their injuries and passed away.

The deceased victims have been identified as Sadiq, Fakeer Hussain, and Ehsan Ali. Their bodies have been transferred to the morgue for further examination and autopsy. Local authorities have commenced an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the collision.

In a separate incident, a 45-year-old man lost his life after being struck by a dumper truck in Shadbagh. The unidentified pedestrian was attempting to cross the road at the Ring Road when the speeding truck collided with him. He was immediately transported to the hospital, but unfortunately, his injuries proved fatal. As with the previous case, the man’s body has been sent to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, road accidents continue to plague the province of Punjab, with a staggering number of casualties reported within the last 24 hours. A total of 15 individuals lost their lives, while an alarming 1,272 people suffered injuries in 1,169 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across all 37 districts of Punjab.

Out of the injured victims, 641 were in critical condition and were swiftly transferred to various hospitals for urgent medical attention. The remaining 631 individuals with minor injuries received on-site treatment from rescue teams. Shockingly, the majority of the accidents (74%) involved motorbikes.

Further analysis of the data revealed that the accidents involved 674 drivers, 41 underage drivers, 150 pedestrians, and 463 passengers. Lahore topped the list with 251 RTCs, affecting 276 individuals, followed by Faisalabad with 86 accidents and 104 victims, and Multan with 67 RTCs and 81 victims.

The statistics also indicate that out of the total victims, 1,039 were males and 248 were females. In terms of age distribution, 230 victims were under 18 years old, 681 were between 18 and 40 years old, and the remaining 376 victims were above 40 years old. The vehicles involved in these accidents included 1,053 motorbikes, 61 rickshaws, 119 motorcars, 29 vans, 15 passenger buses, 31 trucks, and 110 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts.

The alarming rise in road accidents calls for immediate attention and comprehensive measures to ensure the safety of road users in Punjab. Authorities must take proactive steps to enforce traffic laws, improve road infrastructure, and enhance public awareness regarding road safety.
