ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA – On Friday, chaos erupted just outside the entrance of Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, as a shooting incident took place. The incident, which was reportedly an attempted robbery gone wrong, led to a massive manhunt in the surrounding area. Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney, and Disney Resort hotels were all affected by the incident, as guests noticed an Anaheim Police Department helicopter circling the area for nearly an hour on Friday evening.

One concerned guest, u/JTEASER310, took to Reddit to share two photos of the helicopter circling above the popular theme park. The post quickly gained traction, with other Disneyland Resort guests chiming in with their own accounts of the incident. “A helicopter has been circling around the edge of Disneyland… Around Tomorrow Land and Small World,” u/JTEASER310 wrote. “Anyone know anything about this? It’s been going on for some time.”

Another guest, u/Codex4, provided more information about the alleged shooting. They claimed that a fight broke out between a fruit vendor and a man attempting to rob him of his tip money. The altercation escalated when the thief pulled out a gun and fired a shot. Fortunately, it appears that no one was injured during the incident. “Thief pulled a gun and shot. Happened 10 feet from me while holding my one-year-old,” u/Codex4 explained. “Looks like no one got hurt, but cops were on a hunt looking for the guy.”

Another witness, u/ClarkZuckerberg, confirmed the incident, stating that they were leaving Disney at the time and heard what they suspected to be a gunshot. “When I got to the intersection, I heard two women in their 40s telling a cop that there was fighting over on the southeast corner of that intersection and that their daughter was standing right next to them when it happened,” u/ClarkZuckerberg recounted. “The helicopter then circled above that intersection and the hotels on the east side of Disney for about 40 minutes.”

Eyewitness u/EE-PE-gamer described the scene outside the Disneyland Resort entrance, noting the presence of numerous police cars and officers with weapons drawn. “About 20 to 30 police cars were parked outside the Disneyland Resort entrance. They have a hotel surrounded,” u/EE-PE-gamer reported.

As of now, neither the Anaheim Police Department nor Disneyland Resort has issued an official statement regarding the alleged shooting. It remains unclear whether the suspect has been apprehended. This incident comes just weeks after a separate police-involved shooting occurred in close proximity to Disneyland Resort. In that incident, 29-year-old Luis Munoz, a sexual assault suspect armed with a knife, was shot by police. Thankfully, no officers were injured during the confrontation.
