Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Brunswick Hills Township

Ohio State Highway Patrol Investigates Tragic Incident

BRUNSWICK HILLS TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A tragic accident involving a pedestrian has claimed the life of a Brunswick resident. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is currently investigating the incident, which occurred on Substation Road near Autumnwood Lane.

According to a press release issued on November 19th by the OHSP, troopers from the OSHP Medina Post promptly responded to the scene at 7:05 p.m. on November 18th. The victim, identified as 52-year-old Piyush Patel, was walking southbound along Substation when he was struck by a 2019 Volkswagen Golf GTI traveling in the same direction.

Tragically, Piyush Patel was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Cameron Luiza, also a resident of Brunswick, reportedly emerged from the collision unharmed.

Assisting the OSHP in their investigation were the Brunswick Hills and Brunswick Police departments, as well as the Brunswick Hills Fire Department. At the time of the press release, the exact circumstances surrounding the accident remained under thorough investigation.
