The Lorain police received a distress call from the neighborhood at approximately 10 a.m. on Sunday, November 19th. The call reported the presence of loose dogs running in the area, which were later found to belong to residents of an upstairs apartment in a nearby building. Lt. Jacob Morris, speaking at a news conference streamed by WJW, stated that officers arrived at the apartment to find the door open. Upon entering, they discovered the lifeless body of 29-year-old Tyler Young on the living room floor.

A 9 mm pistol was found beside Tyler Young, indicating that he may have taken his own life. As the officers continued their search of the apartment, they tragically found the bodies of Tyler Young’s wife, 24-year-old Skylar Young, and their 4-month-old son, Bandin Young, both of whom had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Additionally, the lifeless body of Skylar Young’s 9-year-old daughter, Angel Isaac, was also discovered, having succumbed to gunshot injuries.

Based on the evidence and facts gathered so far, the Lorain Police Department is currently treating the case as a murder-suicide committed by Tyler Young. Lt. Morris stated that the killings are believed to have occurred between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m., as indicated by the presence of the loose dogs during that time period.

Further investigation revealed that three firearms were found within the apartment, and there was a documented history of domestic violence. In a previous incident in May, police were called to a business parking lot where Tyler Young was accused of strangling and physically assaulting Skylar Young. Although a family member reported that Tyler Young had experienced a mental health episode during this incident, the police have not yet confirmed whether he had an official diagnosis.

Sadly, this incident is not an isolated case, as similar instances of domestic violence continue to occur across the United States. Recent reports have highlighted the grim discovery of a child who was not picked up after school in Texas, leading to a tragic outcome at a residence. In another incident, a man in Texas killed his wife in the presence of their 8-year-old daughter, while a separate incident involved an estranged husband who killed his wife upon her return from work and then proceeded to stab another woman.
