According to court documents filed in Delaware County, Patton now faces multiple charges in relation to the incident. These include one count of robbery, which is classified as a Level 2 felony; one count of battery with an injury, a Level 5 felony; and one count of possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony.

The incident occurred on November 2nd when officers from the Muncie Police Department responded to a call regarding an armed robbery at an apartment in Muncie. The victim reported that she was robbed at gunpoint and had $10, marijuana, and her wallet stolen. The wallet contained her debit card.

The victim stated that she was expecting a family member to visit her that evening. When she heard a knock on the door, she opened it and found two men outside. The men asked if her son was home, but she informed them that he did not live there. As she began to close the door, one of the men kicked it open, causing her to fall and injure her left leg. Patton, the identified suspect, then allegedly placed a handgun to her head and demanded money.

The victim also reported that the men demanded marijuana and her wallet before leaving the scene when her neighbor came out to investigate the commotion.

After the incident, the victim disabled her debit card while at the hospital. She later received notifications that her card had been declined multiple times at different locations.

Through a description provided by the neighbor and surveillance footage from one of the locations where the card was declined, the police were able to track down the suspect vehicle. Further investigation using social media platforms, including Instagram and a Cash App account, led to the identification of DeQuan Patton as the suspect.

During an interview with the police, Patton reportedly admitted to the robbery but denied having a gun. Following the interview, a search warrant was executed at Patton’s residence. Police discovered a clear bag in his bedroom containing multiple round blue M30 pills, which were later identified as oxycodone hydrochloride.

Patton is currently being held in custody, awaiting further legal proceedings. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as new evidence emerges.

The Muncie Police Department reminds residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help ensure the safety and security of the community.
