Gunman Involved in Memphis Shooting Spree Found Dead
The Memphis community is reeling from a tragic incident that left three women and a 13-year-old girl dead. The suspected gunman, identified as Mavis Christian Jr., was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Memphis Police Department has classified the incident as a domestic violence situation.
Multiple Locations Targeted
On Saturday night, the Memphis Police Department received reports of a shooting spree across the city. The first location, Field Lark Drive, became the scene of a horrifying discovery. Authorities found the lifeless bodies of a 13-year-old girl and another victim. Tragically, both victims succumbed to their injuries before help could arrive.

In a statement posted on social media, the Memphis Police Department revealed that a fifth victim, a 15-year-old girl, was critically injured in the attack and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. The assailant struck again approximately an hour later at 5050 Warrington Road, where another victim was found dead.
At this point, the authorities have not released the identities of the victims or their connection to Mavis Christian Jr. The investigation is ongoing.
Manhunt Ends in Tragedy
The manhunt for Mavis Christian Jr. concluded on Sunday when he was discovered dead inside a 2017 white Chevrolet Malibu. The discovery brought an end to a day filled with fear and uncertainty for the Memphis community.
MPD Public Information Officer Christopher Williams expressed his profound sadness at the tragic events. Outside the first shooting scene, he stated, “As a father, it breaks my heart. These were somebody’s kids, sisters, aunts. These were people, real people. We have to do better. We must do better. As a community, it takes all of us. Not just the police, not just the community, but we have to work together to stop senseless acts of violence. We’re tired of it. The community’s tired of it.”
