Man Arrested in Connection with Disappearance of Davido and Karen A. Koep

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Authorities in Washington state have apprehended a man in his 40s from Olympia on charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping in connection with the disappearance of a local couple. The suspect’s identity has not been disclosed as of Monday morning.

Davido and Karen A. Koep were reported missing on November 13 after deputies from the Thurston County sheriff’s office conducted a welfare check at their residence. The check was prompted by a report that one of the Koeps had failed to show up for work. At the time, authorities deemed the circumstances surrounding their disappearance as “suspicious.”

Initially, the couple’s car was also missing from their home in the Lake Forest Development in Thurston County. However, law enforcement later discovered the vehicle in Olympia. Following this discovery, detectives from the sheriff’s office, along with local, state, and federal partners, launched an investigation into the couple’s disappearance. On Saturday, in a subsequent news release, the sheriff’s office announced that the couple had been attacked at their residence and were unlikely to have survived.

Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders stated in the latest release, “Working with our local, state, and federal partners, we have gathered evidence to identify a suspect in their disappearance. Throughout the investigation, we have been in contact with the family of the missing couple, and sadly, we do not believe the couple survived the attack at their residence.”

The suspect, who is known to the couple, will face charges of two counts of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping. No details have been revealed regarding the relationship between the suspect and the victims.

Davido is described as a 6-foot-tall white man weighing approximately 180 pounds, while Karen Koep is described as a 5-foot 4-inch white woman weighing 115 pounds. The sheriff’s office has shared images of the couple in an effort to gather information.

On Sunday, friends and acquaintances of the couple gathered for a prayer vigil outside Karen Koep’s chiropractic office. According to CBS affiliate KIRO-TV, Sharon Cannizzo, Davido’s sister, emphasized the couple’s deep love for their children, stating, “Their family was very, very important to them.” Lucas Anderson, a friend of Karen Koep, expressed disbelief at the tragedy, saying, “It’s just unfathomable really that anyone would harm any of them.”
