Court records filed in Orange County Circuit Court reveal that Hill targeted his former partner, shooting at her and her cousin while they were sitting outside their home. The victims managed to flee into the house, with the woman seeking refuge in a bathroom while her cousin protected her two children. Hill forcibly entered the house, calling out for his ex-girlfriend before eventually leaving empty-handed.

During the investigation, the ex-girlfriend disclosed to the authorities that she had recently contacted a woman who turned out to be Hill’s wife. This communication seemingly triggered Hill’s anger, leading to his threatening remarks. However, authorities have not confirmed any connection between the November 12 shooting incident and Rucker’s murder. The Orange County Public Defender’s Office did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
