Accident – Death – Obituary News : Dodge Center, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Minnesota State Patrol has reported that alcohol use is believed to be the cause of a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday evening in Dodge County. The collision resulted in a Dodge County woman being transported to the hospital for treatment.
Emergency responders received a call about the crash shortly after 5:45 p.m. The incident took place in Dodge County at the intersection of Hwy. 56 and County Rd. 34, which is located approximately three miles northwest of Dodge Center.

According to the state crash report, the accident occurred when an SUV attempted a u-turn and collided with another northbound SUV. The driver of the northbound SUV, identified as 31-year-old Michelle Lynn Schultz from West Concord, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment.
The driver of the SUV that was making the u-turn has been identified as 53-year-old Juan Ramon Gutierrez from Claremont. Fortunately, Gutierrez did not suffer any injuries in the crash. However, the state crash report indicates that he was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Both drivers involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts. In addition to the Minnesota State Patrol, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Dodge County Fire Department, and Dodge County Ambulance also responded to the scene of the two-vehicle collision.
It is important to note that driving under the influence of alcohol is not only illegal but also extremely dangerous.
