On Saturday, November 18, a 31-year-old individual identified as Rogelio Olivera-Martinez, hailing from Creston, was apprehended by the Iowa State Patrol at the Union County Jail. Later that same day, Olivera-Martinez was granted release on a $1,000 cash-only bond.

In another incident, on Friday afternoon, Adair County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Christopher Adam Fannon, 35 years old and a resident of Corning. Fannon was taken into custody on an Adair County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree. Adding to the list of arrests, 52-year-old David Matthew Hanson from Creston was apprehended on November 15th in Orient. The arrest came after the Adair County Communications Center received an alarming 9-1-1 call at around 1:39 a.m. The caller, later identified as Hanson himself, claimed to be armed with two guns and was shooting them at a residence in Orient, Iowa. In response to the call, an Adair County sheriff’s deputy and a Greenfield police officer were dispatched to the scene. It is believed that Hanson fired multiple shots, with at least two bullets piercing through the walls of the occupied residence. The charges filed against Hanson include Going Armed with Intent, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon while Intoxicated, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Burglary in the 1st Degree, and Attempted Murder. Currently, Hanson is being held in the Adair County Jail on a substantial bond amounting to $750,000.

In another case, on November 12th, the Iowa State Patrol executed the arrest of 31-year-old Omar Andrew Hynes from Des Moines. The arrest was made following a routine traffic stop for speeding on I-80 in Adair County. Authorities discovered that Hynes was a fugitive from justice, with an active warrant issued by Clarke County, Nevada. Hynes was wanted for the felony charges of Battery with substantial bodily harm and Battery constituting Domestic Violence. Initially, Hynes was held without bond, but the following day, the authorities in Nevada decided against extraditing him. Consequently, Hynes was subsequently released from custody.

Moreover, on November 12th, 19-year-old Keaton Michael Ballinger from Creston was apprehended by Stuart Police on charges of OWI/1st Offense, Interference with Official Acts, and Possession of a Controlled Substance/1st Offense. Officer Daniel Irving of the Stuart Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch near the westbound off-ramp of I-80 at mile marker 93, close to Stuart. Upon arriving at the scene, Officer Irving discovered a Honda Civic in the ditch and learned from witnesses that the driver, Ballinger, was at the nearby Casey’s Store. When the officer approached Ballinger, who appeared to have sustained multiple cuts and bruises, he admitted to consuming alcohol and explained that he was returning home from Des Moines when the accident occurred. Additionally, Ballinger was found in possession of an item identified as THC wax, which he attempted to discard. Subsequently, he was transported to the Adair County Jail and later released after posting a $2,300 cash or surety bond.
