Manoj Shahu May Face Murder Charges in Kerala Following Death of Assaulted Elderly Individual

KOCHI: A tragic incident unfolded in Kerala as Manoj Shahu, a 29-year-old migrant worker from Bihar, may face murder charges after a 78-year-old individual passed away on Monday morning. The elderly victim, identified as Badharudheen from Chowara near Aluva, had been undergoing treatment since being assaulted by Shahu.
The assault took place on August 7 at around 11:30 p.m when Shahu allegedly intruded into Badharudheen’s house with the intention of robbery. While the victim was asleep, Shahu attacked him with a wooden rod, resulting in severe fractures in his jaw and head. Badharudheen was immediately admitted to Amrita Hospital, where he remained until recently. Prior to the incident, he had served as an ex-serviceman and later worked as a security guard at the public sector telecom company BSNL.
The police are currently awaiting the medical report to determine the cause of death and establish a link between the assault and the victim’s demise.
\”The migrant worker is already in custody. Despite being 78 years old, Badharudheen was in good health. However, his condition deteriorated following the assault by Shahu. We are eagerly awaiting the medical and autopsy reports to ascertain the precise cause of death. The deceased is identified as Badharudheen from Chowara near Aluva.
Shahu allegedly assaulted Badharudheen after intruding into the victim\’s house for robbery on August 7 around 11.30 p.m. The Bihar native is accused of having attacked the elderly person with a wooden rod while the victim was asleep at his house.
Badharudheen, who suffered severe fractures in his jaw and head, was admitted to Amrita Hospital. It was only a few days ago that he was discharged from the hospital. He was an ex-serviceman, and later worked as a security guard at public sector telecom company BSNL.
Meanwhile, the police are awaiting the medical report to ascertain whether the assault resulted in the death.
