A Tragic Motorcycle Accident Claims the Life of a Coweta Man

In a devastating incident near Grantville, a 46-year-old resident of Coweta lost his life in a motorcycle crash on Sunday evening.

The Georgia State Patrol reported that the fatal collision took place at approximately 6 p.m. on Highway 29, near Exit 35 of Interstate 85.

According to troopers, a grey 2012 Nissan Murano was making a left turn from the exit ramp onto Highway 29, intending to travel west. However, the driver failed to yield to an oncoming maroon Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling eastbound on Highway 29.

Tragically, the motorcycle collided with the driver’s side of the Murano, resulting in catastrophic consequences.

The rider of the motorcycle, identified as Benjamin Minix, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical responders. Sadly, his life was cut short in this unfortunate incident. Meanwhile, the driver of the Murano emerged from the collision unharmed.

The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT-D) promptly arrived at the scene to support the ongoing investigation, aiming to determine the precise sequence of events leading up to the fatal accident.
