30-year-old Mohit Kumar killed in Rohtak: Two accused apprehended

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Rohtak: Two individuals have been apprehended by the Rohtak police in connection with the killing of 30-year-old Mohit Kumar from Karor village. The arrest comes a week after Mohit was fatally shot during Diwali celebrations, as a result of an ongoing rivalry between the Chippi and Chajju gangs in Rohtak.

The arrested suspects, identified as Prashant from Faridabad and Rohit from Titoli village in Rohtak district, are believed to be associated with the notorious Chajju gang. DSP Sampla Rakesh Malik informed the media that the suspects have been produced in court and have been remanded to police custody for five days.

The incident took place on November 12 when Mohit, a member of the Chippi gang, was attacked while riding his bike. Jatin, Kapil, Pulkit, and other assailants, armed with weapons, ambushed him and opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in his death. Mohit’s father, Ajit, who rushed to his aid, was also targeted.

According to SP Himanshu Garg, the Chajju and Chippi gangs have been engaged in a long-standing feud that has claimed several lives on both sides. The most recent incident prior to Mohit’s killing was the murder of Anand by the Anil Chippi gang in 2018.

In related news, a 17-year-old girl in Mathura district was allegedly gang-raped by four men while on her way to school. The main accused, a 20-year-old, forcefully took her to his home where three other individuals joined him in the assault. The girl was threatened not to report the incident. An FIR has been registered against the main accused and efforts are underway to apprehend him and his accomplices.

Meanwhile, the Mohali police have arrested Gurpal Singh, a wanted shooter associated with the Goldy Brar-Saba USA gang. Gurpal was apprehended during a special operation targeting criminal activities in the area. This follows the recent capture of another gang member, Manjeet Singh Khedi Gujjra, alias Guri. Gurpal had managed to escape during Guri’s arrest but was located and arrested in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. A pistol and live cartridges were recovered from him. The interrogation of Guri revealed that they were awaiting further instructions from their gang leaders before engaging in any police encounters.
