York Regional Police Identify Victim of Fatal Shooting in Richmond Hill

York Regional Police (YRP) have officially identified the victim of a tragic fatal shooting incident that occurred in Richmond Hill last week. The authorities responded promptly to reports of a shooting at The Keg, located in a plaza near York Boulevard and East Beaver Creek Road. The incident took place at approximately 11:20 p.m. on November 17.

Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered a man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Sadly, he had no vital signs. Urgently, they rushed him to a local hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead.

In a recent update, the police have identified the victim as 21-year-old Alexander Bobby Lapage from Toronto. Based on their investigation, the authorities believe that Lapage was specifically targeted.

The police have now appealed to the public for assistance in piecing together the details of the incident. They are particularly interested in hearing from witnesses who may have valuable information regarding the shooting.

“The area surrounding the incident is frequented by pedestrians and vehicular traffic, as it houses numerous restaurants and nightclubs,” stated the police in a press release on Monday. “Given the high footfall during the time of the shooting, there would have been several individuals present in the plaza.”

If you were present at the scene or have any knowledge that could aid the investigation, the police urge you to come forward as soon as possible. Additionally, they are requesting any individuals who possess video footage, including dashcam recordings, cell phone videos, or security camera footage from the vicinity around the time of the incident, to provide it to the authorities.
