Peoria County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Fatal Crash on Route 150

PEORIA (25News Now) – Tragedy struck on Friday night as a fatal two-vehicle collision unfolded on Route 150, leaving two individuals dead.

According to the Peoria County Sheriff, deputies were summoned to the scene in Kickapoo Township at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered one occupant in each vehicle involved, with both drivers tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

An eyewitness account provided crucial information to the authorities, indicating that one of the vehicles was traveling westbound along Route 150 while attempting to overtake a preceding vehicle. Tragically, the overtaking maneuver resulted in a head-on collision with the second vehicle, which was traveling eastbound.

The first vehicle’s driver has been identified as a 76-year-old woman hailing from Edelstein, while the second driver was a 67-year-old man from Macomb.

The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office has initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the exact circumstances that led to this fatal collision.

The identities of the deceased drivers will be disclosed at a later time by the Peoria County Coroner, allowing the families and loved ones to be notified first.
