Six Policemen Killed in Tragic Road Accident in Rajasthan’s Churu District

Six policemen lost their lives in a devastating road accident in Rajasthan’s Churu district during the early hours of Sunday. Another officer sustained injuries in the mishap, which occurred when their vehicle collided with a parked truck on National Highway 58 near Kanuta post of Sujangarh Sadar police station.

The ill-fated police team, consisting of six personnel from Khinvsar police station in Nagaur and one officer from a women’s police station, was en route to Jhunjunu for election duty related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting. Tragically, the collision resulted in the death of Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramchandra from Khinvsar police station, along with constables Kumbharam, Suresh Meena, Thanaram, and Mahendra. Additionally, Sukharam, another constable, succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to the hospital.

The injured officer has been admitted to a nearby medical facility, where he is currently receiving treatment for his wounds. The identity and condition of the injured policeman have not been disclosed at this time.

The news of this horrific accident has sent shockwaves across the state, prompting Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Director-General of Police (DGP) Umesh Mishra to express their heartfelt condolences for the lives lost. CM Gehlot conveyed his sympathies and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured officer.

In a statement, Chief Minister Gehlot said, “Early this morning, sad news was received about the casualties of policemen in a vehicle accident in Sujangarh Sadar area of Churu. Our deepest condolences to the families of all the policemen who died in this accident. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
