Police Bust Gang, Rescue Kidnapped Brothers in Karachi

Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : KARACHI: In a commendable operation, the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the police successfully apprehended two members of a notorious gang and safely rescued two teenage brothers who had been abducted under the false promise of employment. The AVCC, led by SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi, revealed that the arrested individuals had connections with bandits operating in the riverine regions of the province.

The incident unfolded when two brothers, Rayan Abid (18) and Rizwan Abid (15), were kidnapped from the Sukhan police jurisdiction on November 14, lured by the prospect of job opportunities. Subsequently, the kidnappers demanded a hefty ransom of Rs6 million from the family, warning of dire consequences in case of non-compliance. Promptly, the Sukhan police registered a kidnapping case, which was later handed over to the AVCC for investigation.

Employing advanced technology and acting on a valuable tip, the AVCC team conducted a raid on the kidnappers’ hideout located on Askani Road in Yar Mohammed Goth, Karachi. However, upon the arrival of the police, the kidnappers resorted to firing. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, the law enforcement officials managed to apprehend two suspects, one of whom sustained injuries. Fortunately, both kidnapped brothers were safely recovered.

The captured suspects have been identified as Riaz Ahmed and Aijaz Ahmed, also known as Sajid. Regrettably, their third accomplice managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Notably, Riaz Ahmed already had a criminal record, with multiple FIRs registered against him at the A Section of Shikarpur police for offenses such as kidnapping and other criminal activities.

SSP Siddiqi stated, “The arrested suspects are habitual criminals who have been involved in previous kidnapping cases.” Further investigation revealed that they were part of an inter-provincial gang specializing in abductions. This gang was associated with Ayub Teghani, a notorious criminal, and operated primarily in the katcha area of Shikarpur.

Moreover, intelligence reports suggest that this gang had previously targeted individuals in Karachi, deceiving them with promises of employment before abducting them and demanding ransom in the riverine areas of Shikarpur.

This successful operation by the AVCC is a testament to their commitment to combating violent crime and ensuring the safety of the citizens. The police force’s effective use of technology and swift action played a pivotal role in rescuing the kidnapped brothers and apprehending the culprits.

With the arrest of these gang members, the AVCC has dealt a significant blow to the inter-provincial gang involved in kidnappings. This operation serves as a warning to other criminals who engage in such heinous activities that law enforcement agencies will not rest until justice is served.
