Motorcyclist Killed in Tragic Collision in Central El Paso
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso Police Department has revealed new details regarding a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Friday night in central El Paso.

The accident involved two vehicles, a 2012 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle and a 2021 Dodge Ram TRX pickup truck. Tragically, the motorcyclist, identified as 28-year-old Mauricio Miranda, a resident of El Paso, Texas, lost his life in the collision.
Behind the wheel of the Dodge Ram at the time of the incident was 46-year-old Juan Antonio Lujan Cruz, also a resident of El Paso.
The El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigators were summoned to the scene of the crash, located at the 5300 block of Paisano Drive.
Based on preliminary investigations, it has been determined that Miranda, operating the 2012 Suzuki motorcycle, ran a red light at the intersection, resulting in a collision with the Dodge Ram driven by Juan Antonio Lujan Cruz.

The impact of the collision forcefully ejected Miranda from his motorcycle, and unfortunately, despite all efforts, he succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash, as confirmed by police officials.
The investigation has identified running a red light as a contributing factor to the collision, emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to prevent such tragic incidents.
This unfortunate incident marks the 70th traffic fatality of the year in El Paso, representing a somber increase compared to the 64 reported fatalities at this time last year.
