Manhunt Underway in Memphis After Multiple Shootings Leave Four Dead

(CNN) — A massive manhunt is currently underway in Memphis, Tennessee, following a series of tragic shootings that resulted in the deaths of three women and a 13-year-old girl, while another teenager sustained serious injuries. The Memphis Police Department has confirmed that the shootings occurred at different locations on Saturday.

Authorities have revealed that the investigation into the first shooting, which took place at approximately 9:20 p.m. CT on Howard Drive, has linked it to two other fatal shootings that are believed to involve the same suspect. Identified as Mavis Christian Jr., a 52-year-old individual, the suspect is considered “armed and extremely dangerous,” according to law enforcement officials.
Based on preliminary information, it has been determined that the motive behind the shootings is domestic violence. Furthermore, Christian Jr. is known to be a relative of the victims, and he managed to flee each crime scene in a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu with Tennessee license plate number 390-BHTM. The direction in which he fled remains unknown.
One of the shootings occurred on Fieldlark Drive, resulting in the tragic deaths of a woman and a 13-year-old girl. Additionally, a 15-year-old girl sustained critical injuries and is currently in critical condition. The other shooting took place approximately 13 miles away, on Warrington Road, where another woman lost her life.
At this point, the identities of the victims have not been disclosed, and the authorities have not provided any information regarding their relationship with the suspect.

The Memphis Police Department has mobilized local, state, and federal agencies to join forces in the search for Mavis Christian Jr., emphasizing that he should be considered extremely dangerous. In order to assist with the manhunt, the public is urged to immediately contact 911 if they spot the suspect or his white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu.
