In the wake of the tragic gang beating incident that claimed the life of 17-year-old high school student Jonathan Lewis, the Clark County School District is now facing allegations of ignoring and suppressing reported cases of bullying within its schools, according to a recent report.

The Clark County School District has been hit with two separate lawsuits this year alone, accusing the district of failing to investigate student claims of bullying and abuse. One of the lawsuits also includes allegations against Jonathan Cronin, a former teacher and convicted child abuser, as reported by The Daily Mail.

Jonathan Lewis, a student at Rancho High School in eastern Las Vegas, was hospitalized on November 1 after being brutally attacked by at least 15 students. Unfortunately, Lewis succumbed to his injuries on November 7, and his death has been classified as a homicide.

So far, the police have charged eight teenagers in connection with Lewis’ beating death.

This incident has shed light on the numerous lawsuits filed against the Clark County School District in recent years, all of which claim that the district has failed in its legal obligation to investigate and report bullying incidents.

One of the lawsuits was brought forth by a former teacher who alleged that she and her child were coerced into withdrawing their bullying allegations.

According to The Daily Mail report, there have been police investigations into district officials for allegedly suppressing bullying allegations made by children and parents.

The report also highlights a local resident’s description of the district’s leadership as “mob-like.”

Richard Carreon, a former Las Vegas City Council candidate, has voiced his concerns about the CCSD’s failure to address the issue of bullying adequately. He believes that “bullying has been under-prioritized” and blames the district’s leadership for its incompetence and lack of basic management skills.

Carreon, who has been residing in the district since 2014 and actively advocates for education reforms, stated to DailyMail.com that the CCSD demonstrates a “basic disregard for the necessities inherent to education.”
