Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic discovery has been made in Apopka, Florida, as authorities have revealed that the body of Shakeira Rucker, a 37-year-old mother of four from Winter Springs, has been found dead in a storage unit. Rucker had been missing since November 11, and her disappearance has now turned into a homicide investigation, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The gruesome find was made on Saturday when deputies responded to a complaint about a foul odor coming from the Self Storage facility on Wiggins Road. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the heartbreaking news on their Facebook page, expressing their condolences to Rucker’s family and promising to bring justice in this case.

Rucker’s last known sighting was with her estranged husband, identified as Cory Hill by FOX 35, as they left their home in Winter Springs. Hill quickly became a person of interest in her disappearance. Surveillance footage showed the couple together at a restaurant in Polk County on the night Rucker was reported missing.
Currently, Hill is in custody at the Orange County jail, facing unrelated charges of attempted murder. However, he has refused to cooperate with authorities regarding Rucker’s disappearance. At this time, he has not been named a suspect or charged in connection with her death.
The news of Rucker’s tragic fate has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving her loved ones devastated. Mikayla Rucker, her 16-year-old daughter, tearfully shared her anguish with FOX 35, saying, “I just want my mom to come back. It’s hard, her not being here because I’m always with her. It’s like I can’t live without her. She’s all I know.”
The authorities had offered a $5,000 reward through Crimeline for any information leading to the resolution of the case. Now, the focus turns to the ongoing investigation and the search for answers surrounding Rucker’s death.
