Dhaka, Bangladesh – In a tragic incident, a 27-year-old worker lost his life and three others sustained injuries in a fire that broke out at a steel mill in the Kadamtoli area of Dhaka’s Shyampur early this morning. The deceased has been identified as Rabiul Islam, a worker at Based Steel Mill from Barguna district.

The injured individuals have been identified as Mazharul Islam, aged 37, Shah Alam, aged 35, and Ashirul Islam, aged 35.

According to Mainul Hossain, another worker at the mill, the fire broke out last night while some workers were melting iron rods. During the process, an explosion occurred, causing injuries to four workers.

Rabiul sustained 26 percent burn injuries, while Ashirul had eight percent burns. They were immediately rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where Rabiul sadly succumbed to his injuries around 4:00 am. Shah Alam and Mazharul received first aid treatment.

The incident has caused shock and grief among the workers and local community. The exact cause of the fire and explosion is currently under investigation by the authorities. It is crucial to determine the cause to prevent similar accidents in the future and ensure the safety of workers in industries across the country.
