Chief Pelko stated that the vehicle in question was initially spotted at the Speedway on S. Abbe Rd. However, upon seeing the police, the driver fled the scene, dragging one of the officers along as he sped away. The police later discovered the abandoned and crashed vehicle in a residence located in the 39000 block of Chestnut Ridge Road.

Further investigations led the EPD to a home in the 500 block of Carol Lane, where they found the driver barricaded inside. Neighbors have informed 19 News that the suspect actually resides in the rental property. In an attempt to coax the suspect out, officers engaged in negotiations with him. However, the situation took a dangerous turn when the driver entered another vehicle parked in the garage and forcefully drove through the garage door.

Confirming the officers’ claims, Chief Pelko revealed that the suspect drove towards the officers, prompting them to fire their service weapons at both the suspect and the vehicle. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Dorian Williams from Detroit, Michigan, appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound. After receiving medical clearance, Williams was subsequently transported to Lorain County Jail. A photograph released by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office shows Williams in custody.

Dorian Williams is now facing multiple charges, including two counts of assault on a police officer, classified as fourth-degree felonies, and two counts of failure to comply, classified as third-degree felonies. Additionally, he has been charged with one count of having weapons under disability, categorized as a third-degree felony, one count of resisting arrest, a first-degree misdemeanor, and one count of obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony.
