Byron Man Identified as Victim of Minneapolis Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Authorities have identified a young man from Byron as the victim of a recent shooting in Minneapolis.

The fatal shooting took place on Tuesday, just before 8:30 p.m., in the 3700 block of Newton Ave. North, according to the Minneapolis police department.

21-year-old Teegan James Charles Wenzel, a resident of Byron, was found with multiple gunshot wounds inside a residence with the front door open, as confirmed by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in a news release on Friday.

Despite life-saving measures, Wenzel was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner ruled his death as a homicide, attributing it to the multiple gunshot wounds he sustained.
