BIBB COUNTY, Ga. Investigates Homicide Incident in Macon

BIBB COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) – Authorities in Macon are currently conducting an investigation into a tragic homicide incident that occurred on Saturday night.

As stated in an official media release, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office promptly responded to a distress call reporting gunshots in the 1400 block of Brentwood Avenue, situated between Napier Avenue and Columbus Road, at approximately 6 p.m. that evening. The incident was initially detected by the county’s sophisticated ShotSpotter system, which promptly alerts law enforcement to the sound of gunshots.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered a 20-year-old male victim, later identified as Kealan Tre Hardeman, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Hardeman was urgently transported to a nearby hospital, where, despite medical efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities, who are diligently working to establish a clearer understanding of the events leading up to this tragic incident.

Fortunately, no other individuals were injured during the occurrence.
