On Friday at approximately 4am, Mr. Bone’s lifeless body was found along Yeppoon Rd in Norman Gardens, Rockhampton. Tragically, he had sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Superintendent Darrin Shadlow of the Queensland Police revealed on Saturday that investigators have identified a vehicle of interest in connection with the incident and are currently attempting to locate its owner.

The vehicle in question is a green Hyundai Getz, which was previously searched by officers on October 20 after being discovered parked on Farm St in Norman Gardens.

Detective Superintendent Shadlow stated, “We do know that the vehicle is registered in Rockhampton. We are focused on the timeframe between Thursday, November 16th, and Friday, November 17th, when the incident occurred. We are aware that the vehicle was in the vicinity of the crime scene.”

Detective Superintendent Shadlow clarified that he does not believe the shooting is connected to the recent theft of three rifles from a property in Milman, a rural area approximately 37km north of Rockhampton, which occurred on Wednesday.

During a press conference on Friday, Superintendent Shadlow stated that the attack appears to have been targeted, adding, “At this early stage of the investigation, I don’t believe there is any cause for concern among the general public.”

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and observing vehicles fleeing the scene “at high speed,” according to Superintendent Shadlow.

Friends and family of Mr. Bone have taken to social media to pay tribute to him. One friend wrote on Facebook, “Rest in peace brother,” while another expressed, “RIP brother. It’s heartbreaking to see so many of you losing your lives.” Yet another sorrowfully stated, “I’m truly shocked and heartbroken. Rest in peace, you superstar!
