Update on Investigation into Shooting that Killed Security Officer Bradley Haas at New Hampshire Hospital

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Authorities in New Hampshire are set to provide an update on Saturday morning regarding the investigation into a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a security officer at New Hampshire Hospital, a state-run psychiatric facility in Concord. The shooting occurred on Friday afternoon, and a State Police trooper assigned to the hospital responded by shooting and killing the suspect.

As of Friday night, Colonel Mark B. Hall, director of the State Police, stated that officers were working on identifying the suspect. However, no information about the motive or the weapon used in the shooting has been released thus far.

He was shot while on duty at around 3:30 p.m. on Friday and received CPR at the scene before being transported to Concord Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Governor Chris Sununu expressed his condolences and mourned Haas’s death in a statement released on Friday. He praised Haas for his heroism and decades of public service. Haas had served as a military police officer in the U.S. Army before joining the Franklin Police Department, where he worked for 28 years and eventually retired as chief in 2008.

Autopsies for both Haas and the suspect are scheduled to take place on Saturday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities are working diligently to gather more information.

New Hampshire Hospital is the only state-run mental health facility in the state, with a capacity of 185 beds. At the time of the incident, there were 152 patients admitted to the facility, according to state data. Thankfully, no patients were injured during the shooting.
