Investigation Underway After Fatal Shooting in Southern Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Authorities are conducting an intensive investigation following a tragic incident of gun violence in southern Colorado.

At approximately 9 p.m. on Friday, the Colorado Springs Police Department promptly responded to a report of gunshots near the intersection of Bonfoy and St. Vrain, situated to the east of downtown Colorado Springs. Upon arrival, officers discovered an injured man who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Despite the valiant efforts of the responding officers to administer life-saving measures, the victim tragically succumbed to his injuries on the scene. As of Saturday morning, the authorities have refrained from publicly disclosing the identity of the deceased.

The Colorado Springs Police Department continues to diligently work towards identifying and apprehending the individual responsible for this heinous act. The Violent Crimes Section and Homicide Unit have assumed control of the investigation, employing all available resources to bring justice to the victim and their grieving loved ones.
