RAJOURI, Nov 17: Two individuals lost their lives and five others sustained injuries when a Tata Sumo vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in the Thanamandi area of Rajouri today.
According to an official spokesman, the accident occurred in the Hasplot area while the ill-fated vehicle, bearing registration number JK11-3494, was en route from Rajouri to Shahdara. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and fall into a nearly 300-feet deep gorge.

The mishap claimed the lives of two individuals, identified as Mohd Yasser (21), son of Mohd Hussain from Pangai, and Shazia Kouser (15), daughter of Mohd Shafiq from Bhangai. The bodies of the deceased were transported to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Thanamandi.
The injured victims have been identified as Puja (45), wife of Chaman Lal from Agrati, Arushi, a minor and daughter of Chaman Lal, Alia (32), daughter of Zulfiqar Khan from Rajourl, Shakeel Ahmed, son of Faqir Mohd from Parori, and Kala Khan, son of Noor Mohd from Muradpur.
Upon receiving the news, SDM Thannamandi Shafiq Ahmed Mir, along with Tehsildar Syed Sahil Ali Shah and SHO Hilal Azhar, promptly reached the accident site and arranged for the injured to be shifted to the CHC Thannamandi for medical treatment.

The tragic incident took place today in the Thanamandi area of Rajouri, leaving two people dead and five others injured. The ill-fated Tata Sumo vehicle, carrying registration number JK11-3494, was traveling from Rajouri to Shahdara when it met with an unfortunate accident. The driver lost control of the vehicle in the Hasplot area, causing it to plunge into a deep gorge approximately 300 feet below.

The victims of the accident have been identified as Mohd Yasser (21), son of Mohd Hussain from Pangai, and Shazia Kouser (15), daughter of Mohd Shafiq from Bhangai. Their bodies have been transferred to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Thanamandi for post-mortem examinations.

The injured individuals are Puja (45), the wife of Chaman Lal from Agrati, Arushi, a minor and daughter of Chaman Lal, Alia (32), daughter of Zulfiqar Khan from Rajourl, Shakeel Ahmed, son of Faqir Mohd from Parori, and Kala Khan, son of Noor Mohd from Muradpur. They were immediately rushed to the CHC Thannamandi by SDM Shafiq Ahmed Mir, Tehsildar Syed Sahil Ali Shah, and SHO Hilal Azhar, who arrived at the scene promptly after being informed about the accident.
