Tragic Accident Claims the Lives of Six in Jharkhand’s Giridih District

Car Accident

In a heart-wrenching incident, six people lost their lives while three others, including two children, sustained injuries after the SUV they were travelling in crashed into a roadside tree in Giridih district of Jharkhand, India. The devastating accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, leaving the community in shock and grief.

Details of the Tragic Incident

The mishap took place in Baghmara, located in the Mufassil police station area, at around 3 am. The nine occupants of the vehicle were returning from a wedding ceremony when the driver lost control and collided with a tree. The impact of the collision was so severe that five individuals died on the spot, while the injured were rushed to Sadar hospital for immediate medical attention.

Despite the prompt medical assistance, one of the seriously injured victims was later transferred to the renowned Saheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital in Dhanbad. Tragically, this individual succumbed to their injuries during treatment, adding to the already devastating loss.

Victims’ Identification

The deceased have been identified as Sagir Ansari (31), Md Yusuf Miyan (72), Imtiyaz Ansari (47), Subhan Ansari (31), Yakub Ansari (62), and Aftab Ansari (35). These individuals were part of a close-knit community and their untimely demise has left the entire region mourning.

Insights from the Officials

Giridih Sadar Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Anil Singh shed light on the circumstances surrounding the accident. He revealed that the occupants of the car had travelled from Thoria village in Birni police station area to attend a function at Tikodih, around 40 km away. Unfortunately, tragedy struck on their way back home.

While the exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, SDPO Anil Singh speculated that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. An investigation is currently underway to ascertain the precise sequence of events leading up to the collision.

The two children who were injured in the accident are reported to be in a stable condition. The authorities are providing them with the necessary medical care and support to aid their recovery.

This devastating accident has left the entire community in Giridih district grieving. The loss of six lives, including elderly community members, has cast a dark shadow over the region. Their memories will be cherished, and their absence deeply felt by their loved ones and the community at large.
