Jammu: A video depicting a teacher in an intoxicated state while students anxiously awaited his return to sobriety has caused outrage on the internet. Netizens are questioning the conduct of the teacher, who performed his duties while under the influence of alcohol.

The video captures a primary school teacher, identified as Dalair Singh, from Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, as reported by news agency PTI. Singh can be seen in a completely disoriented state, resembling a drunken fool, slouched on a plastic chair with his mouth wide open, a clear indication of his intoxicated state.

Following the circulation of the video online, news agencies confirmed that the teacher has been suspended. The PTI news agency relied on officials who disclosed Singh’s suspension on Saturday.

The video, shot at a school in Dharidhar village of Chassana, showcases primary class students patiently waiting for Singh to regain his composure. Local residents can also be heard in the video expressing their dissatisfaction with the teacher’s failure to fulfill his responsibilities.

The incident has shocked many online, with numerous individuals expressing their sympathy for the young children affected. Reacting promptly, the Reasi chief education officer issued an order for Singh’s immediate suspension and requested a thorough investigation into his behavior.

The suspended teacher has been instructed to report to the deputy commissioner’s office in Reasi for further instructions and duties, as confirmed by the official.
