Notorious Gang Responsible for Robberies Impersonating Government Officials Busted in Karachi; Arbaz and Junaid Saraiki Arrested

Accident – Death – Obituary News : KARACHI: The Surjani Town police have successfully apprehended two members of a notorious gang involved in a series of robberies in residential areas, where they impersonated government officials to gain access. The suspected robbers, identified as Arbaz and Junaid Saraiki, were part of a larger criminal syndicate consisting of six members.

With the help of advanced technical expertise, the police conducted a well-planned operation, leading to the recovery of a significant amount of stolen items from the suspects. Among the items seized were illegal weapons, gold ornaments, mobile phones, wallets, LCDs, and various other valuable possessions.

SSP West Mehroz Ali disclosed that the modus operandi of these suspects involved masquerading as government servants during their criminal activities. Further investigation revealed that the suspects confessed to their involvement in several incidents.

One such incident took place on November 2, when the suspects, accompanied by their accomplices, forcefully entered the residence of Jamshed in Ali Muhammad Goth, Lyari 36. Jamshed and his 10-year-old son were held captive and blindfolded in a room while the suspects, brandishing weapons, looted gold ornaments, a 30-bore pistol, Rs80,000, and a new mobile phone from the house.

In another incident on September 19, the gang targeted the house of Abdul Khaliq in Ajmer Goth, Surjani Town. Posing as government officials, they took the entire family hostage and fled after robbing them of their gold ornaments and cash. Similarly, on February 16, the criminals, pretending to be police officers, invaded the residence of Noor Jahan in Yaro Khan Goth, Surjani Town. After locking the occupants in a room, they made off with gold ornaments, cash, cell phones, and other valuable items.

The arrested suspects, along with their accomplices, also raided the house of Basharat in Gaddu Goth, Surjani Town, on August 30. At gunpoint, they looted Rs500,000 in cash, two tolas of gold, and mobile phones.

The successful crackdown on this gang has brought relief to the affected residents of Surjani Town. The police are now focused on apprehending the remaining members of the syndicate and dismantling the entire criminal network responsible for these robberies.

They have also advised residents to verify the identity of any government officials visiting their premises and to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and security.
