Residents Report Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins in University Heights

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — A string of trespassing incidents has left University Heights residents concerned about their safety. According to the resident, their dog had been stolen from their yard. However, it was later discovered that the dog had simply escaped and was taken in by a passerby for safekeeping. A resident arrived at the University Heights Police Station on November 6th to report being bitten by a dog. The victim stated that they were working at a residence when a dog reached over the fence and bit them on the right triceps. Cleveland Woman Arrested for Theft at Target

On November 6th, police were dispatched to Target at 14070 Cedar Road after store security detained a 28-year-old Cleveland woman for theft. The stolen merchandise amounted to $483.33. The woman was apprehended by the police, who charged her with theft, possessing criminal tools, and resisting arrest. Additionally, it was discovered that she had outstanding warrants.

Vehicle Damage Reported at Sherwin Williams Store

On November 7th, a call was made to the University Heights Police Department reporting damage to a vehicle parked at the Sherwin Williams store on South Taylor Road. Officers arrived at the scene to find a Sherwin Williams company van with a smashed window. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Warrant Arrest Made Following Traffic Stop

During a routine traffic stop on November 8th, an officer noticed a vehicle being driven on Bushnell Road with only one working headlight. The driver, a 25-year-old University Heights man, was found to have an outstanding warrant with the University Heights Police Department. The man was detained, transported to the police station, and issued a personal bond along with traffic citations.

Theft Reported at Macy’s

On November 10th, police were called to Macy’s at 2201 Warrensville Center Road regarding a reported theft of merchandise amounting to $718. A 28-year-old Solon woman was apprehended by Macy’s asset protection team. The police issued her a misdemeanor citation for theft and subsequently released her with a court date at the Shaker Heights Municipal Court on December 12th.

Man Detained for Theft at Target

Target store security contacted the police on November 10th, reporting that a 64-year-old Cleveland man was being detained for theft. The police cited the suspect for theft and issued him a court date.

Domestic Violence Incident Leads to Arrest

Police responded to a domestic violence report on November 11th at a residence on Faversham Road. The officers arrested a 58-year-old University Heights man for domestic violence. Additional charges are pending in this ongoing investigation.

Theft Reported at Family Dollar

Officers were dispatched to Family Dollar at 13470 Cedar Road on November 11th following a theft report. According to the investigation, two male suspects distracted a cashier during a transaction and left the store without paying for merchandise. The incident is currently under investigation.

Vehicle Break-In Results in Stolen Valuables

In a disturbing incident on November 12th, a woman reported that her vehicle had been broken into, resulting in the theft of her purse. The stolen items included cash, a credit card, driver’s license, wedding rings, and other valuable items. Although no signs of forced entry were found, the vehicle was parked in the reporting party’s garage.

Theft and Drug Possession Incident at Macy’s

Macy’s loss prevention team took action on November 12th when they apprehended a 28-year-old Cleveland woman for stealing $620 worth of goods. Additionally, suspicions arose regarding possible drug possession. The woman may face charges related to theft and drug possession.
