The victims have been identified as Sahil Chauhan, 22, Mohammed Alfaz Belim, 22, Salman Chauhan, 19, Aspak Chauhan, 17, and Sajeb Belim, 17. One survivor, Shahnawab Chauhan, 22, is currently in critical condition.

According to the Pethapur police, the group of six men had gone to a multiplex in Pethapur to watch a movie and were returning to their uncle’s place in Mansa when the tragic accident occurred. The police believe that the accident took place in the early hours of Friday. Sahil Chauhan was driving the hatchback at the time.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Sahil lost control of the vehicle approximately 300 meters from Randheja Crossroads around 12:05 am. The car first collided with a signboard before crashing into a tree, causing it to flip over due to the impact. All occupants of the car sustained severe injuries, leading to the deaths of five individuals. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined.

Shahnawab Chauhan, the sole survivor of the accident, was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Asarwa in critical condition. The police suspect that the car was traveling at a speed of around 120 kilometers per hour.

The Pethapur police have registered a complaint against Sahil Chauhan, the deceased driver, for causing death by negligence. Further investigations are underway to gather more information about the accident.
