The officers were dispatched to a residence on the 4000 block of Southwest 337th Street after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting sounds of domestic violence. Upon arriving at the scene a few minutes later, the officers were confronted by a man wielding a knife who rushed towards them.

According to the Federal Way Police Department, the man did not comply with the officers’ commands, prompting them to open fire. The man was struck by the gunfire and the officers immediately began administering first aid.
