Tragic Road Accident in Samut Prakan Turns Fiery, Resulting in Fatality

A severe road accident occurred this morning on Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road, heading towards the Lak Si intersection, resulting in a fiery crash and the loss of a life.

The incident took place at 7.45am, attracting the attention of Nawin Sonitpon, a police investigator at Don Mueang Police Station, who arrived on the scene to assess the situation. Officers from Don Mueang Fire Station and Poh Teck Tung Foundation also joined to provide assistance.

The accident scene was located on a two-lane road, necessitating the use of barriers to divert traffic. The collision, which occurred at high speed, involved a black PCX motorcycle and a white bread delivery van. The motorcycle was found completely burned about 10 meters away from the delivery van, which had a crumpled front, shattered windscreen, deflated tires, and was facing the wrong direction.

In addition, a white Honda City car suffered damage to its front left side, while the driver of the bread delivery van, identified as 29-year-old Jatupol (surname withheld), sustained a head injury and was transported to Paolo Kaset Hospital. Sadly, a fatality was also discovered at the scene. The deceased, a 38-year-old man named Paritat (surname withheld), was found distorted and lying in the middle of the railway tracks, approximately 10 meters away from the accident site, as reported by KhaoSod.

Eyewitness Account and Further Investigations

The driver of the sedan involved in the accident, 25-year-old Apiwat, stated that he was on his way to work at the Government Complex on Chaeng Watthana Road when the incident occurred. According to Apiwat, he noticed the delivery van driving in the wrong lane, hitting a barrier before colliding with his car. As a result, the van lost control and crashed into the side of the road. However, at that moment, Apiwat was unaware that the van had also collided with a motorcycle following closely behind. The incident was captured on video by Traffic Emergency 1197.

Similar Incidents Highlight the Need for Road Safety

In a related incident in Songkhla Province in August, a fatal road accident occurred when a sedan and a pickup truck collided head-on at a curved corner. The sedan driver tragically lost their life at the scene, while two occupants of the pickup truck sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. These incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of road safety measures and the need for heightened awareness while driving.
